About Us

Welcome to World Mission Television!

This Internet TV site has been prepared by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith - Toronto office to help teachers and learners delve more deeply into the Catholic Church’s global missionary efforts.

Through these videos and study guides, we hope you can come to know better the men, women and youth who, together are keeping the missions alive in more than 1,200 of the world’s missionary dioceses.

Happy Villagers

The videos and study guides are here to help you get started.

A lot more information about the missions and the kind of projects the Society supports (along with a list of countries where its work is gong on) is available on the Society’s web site www.missionsocieties.ca and through its magazine Missions Today (see below, for some of the magazine’s recent front covers. To order a subscription or to get back issues, write the Society (see this site’s contact page).

A Brief History

A word about the Society for the Propagation of the Faith

Poor Children

(one of four societies that come together under the umbrella Pontifical Missions Society).

• Society for the Propagation of the Faith - funds needs of the missionary church

• Holy Childhood Association - helps children in mission countries and raises the missionary awareness of Canadian children

• Society of St. Peter the Apostle - educates priests, brothers, sisters in mission countries

• Missionary Union of Clergy and Religious - supports missions with prayer and solidarity

Since 1922, the PMS have been the official missionary arm of the Church charged with the work of evangelization and charitable works throughout the world. Our work also provides mission awareness and supported by our benefactors, raises funds for the poorest mission churches of the Catholic Church.
