Study Guide

Goal

The goal of Program Nine is to introduce students to the mission houses of Madonna House and the work they do all over the world.

Steps

1. Show the video "Program Nine: Our Missions"

2. Ask students to form small groups to answer the following questions:

  • What is a mission house of Madonna House? Where are some located? How is one opened?
  • What are some of the works and services of the mission houses?
  • What are some common characteristics of the houses?
  • Which director’s house description stayed with you? Why?

3. Options for Take-Home Assignment. Find out more about:

  • The mission houses, on the Madonna House website. Is there a mission house close to you?
  • The culture and the Catholic Church in the various countries outside of North America where there are mission houses. E.g., Russia, Belgium, England, the West Indies.
