About Us

For the past 20 years, Villagers Media Productions Inc (www.villagersmedia.com) has produced hundreds of conventional TV and video projects in partnership with more than three dozen Canadian Roman Catholic organizations, including dioceses, religious communities, national and provincial organizations. That work was broadcast on Vision TV and Salt and Light TV.

Formally and informally, the programs were always of interest to the Catholic learning community, including teachers and students from school to life- long learning ages.

Villagers is now working to bring the TV and video assets of these organizations and communities to this hub site, Roman Catholic TV (RCTV).

Beginning with up to twelve pioneer Catholic groups in the first year as content authors, RCTV will be the hub site for these groups’ individual internet TV services, each one complete with videos, study guides and lesson plans.

Over time, many more groups will be welcomed to participate in the hub.

The prime focus of RCTV will be to acquaint students, teachers and lifelong learners with the extraordinary social justice and spiritual development works of the Church throughout Canada and the world.

All content will be developed to be of interest to all ages. Content is to be story-based, derived from the special journeys, insights and knowledge of Catholic spiritual, social and eco justice leadership and will not be of a promotional or fund-raising nature.

Content areas may include: Northern Church Life, Global Justice, Ecology Spirituality, Virtues, Refugee Ministry, Aboriginal Church, Interfaith Understanding, Life Issues, Relationships, Mission Church, Sacraments, Liturgy, Social Justice, Family Life, Health Ethics, Vocation, Youth, Women, Diversity, Spiritual Purpose, Prayer.
