Dawn Deme, Producer/ Writer
Dawn Deme is founding President of Villagers Media Productions Inc, where her functions include producing, writing, post-production supervision and new business development. Prior to Villagers, she worked on a variety of TV programs, in addition to serving in several print media organizations, newspapers and magazines. As both writer and editor, Dawn Deme has won awards for business, fashion and religious journalism. At Villagers, Dawn has personally overseen some 40 mentorships with young media graduates, representing several of Canada's diverse communities. Her lifelong interest in people attempting to make positive changes for society is at the core of many Villagers projects.

Steven J. Deme, Director/ Director of photography
Steven J. Deme is founding Villagers secretary/ treasurer. In his 14 years with the company, he has more than 200 producer, director, director of photography and photography credits on Villagers projects. Prior to Villagers founding in 1991, Steven worked on a wide variety of features, dramas, drama/documentaries and commercials. He has produced in dozens of foreign settings all over Asia, Africa and Latin America. along with several Northern First Nations locations, including the High Arctic, Nova Scotia, Labrador, Quebec, Northern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C.. He speaks French and Hungarian and has a BAA in Film Studies, Ryerson 1982.

Genevieve Holt, Editor.
Genevieve Holt has been with Villagers for ten years with more than 150 production and post production credits to her name. As associate producer, she has travelled with the Villagers team to Bangladesh, Jordan, Colombia and Tanzania. Genevieve's beautiful narrator's voice guides the viewers through many of Villagers documentaries. Her editing skills are hard at work in every one of our projects including our current series World Class: Young people who can change the world. She is a talented visual artist, expert sailor and a valiant snow boarder.

Chris Allen, Editor
Chris Allen joined Villagers Media Productions in 1993 as a Production Assistant. Traveling with Steven throughout Canada's North and overseas to Israel, Colombia, Bolivia and Peru, Chris became Associate Producer and Additional Videographer. In 1995, he became one of VMPI's principal editors, cutting nearly 200 Villagers programs including the mini-series Holy Land, Holy People, several episodes of The Global Villagers and Olive Dickason’s First Nations. Most recently, he was Series Editor for World Class, designing its opening and closing and writing much of the music.

Darren Kinash, Assistant Editor, Production Assistant
Darren Kinash has been with Villagers since June, 2005, starting out as an intern and now assistant editor and production assistant, including for the World Class series, for which he traveled to Uganda and Thailand. Darren graduated from Niagara College with a film major in Broadcasting in the spring of 2004. From there, he worked as a camera assistant on feature films and shorts. In his spare time he writes and produces his own short films. Darren is also quite a connoisseur when it comes to fine wine.

Erin Shaw, Production Assistant
Erin Shaw has been with Villagers since August, 2005, starting out as an intern and now production assistant, including for the World Class series, for which she traveled to Sri Lanka. Erin graduated Sheridan College Media Arts program in 2000, and has held various jobs in the television industry. Keenly interested in history and cultures, Erin spent a year and a half living in Central America, learning Spanish and working for local NGOs. Erin’s work at Villagers provides her with a good mix of her storytelling interests, alongside themes of social justice and history.
